For Emma

Hi all, it is my daughter's birthday tomorrow and she wanted a canvas to put up in her room so she can pin photos on. I have some mount board with magnetic sheets placed behind this canvas so she can then use it as a magnetic photo board.   These photos will be from the camera she has on her Birthday wish list - yet to arrive!.  As per usual, leaving things to the last minute I spent the day putting something together quickly that would suit her 'teenhood' bedroom and wanted to share this project as she loved it when I handed it to her. If I had planned more time, I think there would have been a few sprays and other background techniques in this canvas, but time was of the essence.   Great gift idea for a teen!

The pictures are not the best as the flowers twinkle and sparkle.

This is the finished piece ready for her photos.  The flowers were sprayed with glimmer mist and pearl swirls added to finish and looked really shimmery, however these photos don't show this.  I did end up putting a little stickles on the flower brad when I got home, just to complete the sparkly effect.
I have put some of the steps in our new tab - Gift ideas if you want more info on this project.

This canvas now hangs on the same wall as her 1D posters.  What a feeling, I finally made it - hanging with 1D (One Direction)!

All these product can be found in our shop and some on our website, please ring me on 01763262417 or email us for help.

Inkylicious

A selection of cards using Inkylicious stamps.
This tag shows how small stamps can give a good background coverage.

JOFY Cards

JOFY Rubber Stamps
Nina held a workshop recently and the ladies made these stunning cards using stamps by Jo Firth-Young. These were coloured using watercolour pencils and are truly vibrant.
We are very lucky to have Jo coming along to run a workshop for us in July (unfortunately this workshop is sold out but there are others available, if you fancy taking a peep go here)
Jo has launched her new range of stamps and we will be using these in the next scrapbook workshop.

Holiday Scrapbook Workshop

Well as you read this think of me lying on a beach in Skiathos while sipping a cocktail!
While planning for my holiday I have been inspired to design a double page summer layout for the next workshop which is on June 29th (the morning after the night I arrive home, I cannot promise to be compos mentis so you may need to ply me with much coffee!) We will be using PaperArtsy and DecoArt paint, using the Happy Cut and producing hidden journaling using the Hoogie board. Below is a snippet of the layout. To book on this workshop go Here. The class will run for 3 hours.

Pan Pastels - Demonstration

Hi all, just a quick note to thank all of you who came to the FREE pan pastel demonstration I held last Saturday here at Crafting Time.   We covered such a wide range of techniques and uses of pan pastels in a very short period of time.  So if you need me to re-cap on anything shown, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The pictures aim to show the range of techniques demonstrated:
We coloured paper,  gesso, Kraft paper, coloured heat embossed images and highlighted embossed pearlised card and that is mentioning only a few.  Using Pan Pastels with distress inks, Flitter Glue and Versa Mark to colour, stamp and make different effects.
Then , we mixed with mediums such as glosses, gesso and modelling pastes and anything we could put our hands on that would colour!  I demonstrated how to use it on paper mache (the 13 which only made part of the picture)
We also did some masking, stencilled and made our own sprays!  Plus we showed various ways of sealing the colour!

Pan Pastels are such a great product and there is so much you can do with them!  Just give it a whirl!

Remember this Beautiful Day

We ran this delightful scrapbook workshop last month, an enjoyable time was had by all. Below is a step by step guide to completing this look.
This layout works just as well with landscape photographs as demonstrated by Rachel Haines.
